A fine pink gold Patek Philippe gent's wrist watch. The case diameter is 35 mm. The model reference is 1578; case serial number 660463; movement no. 967220. From these data, we know the watch was made in 1947. The dial is still in very good conditions and has never been re-printed. Strap, buckle and crown are genuine Patek Philippe parts. The buckle has not evident personalization, as it happens nowadays. The movement too is in excellent conditions and must have been seldom used.

A French mantel clock in patinated, gilt and silvered chased bronze, made in the first half of 19th Century, with silk suspension and bell strike. It runs for 15 days on a single wind.
The term "bronze" is not technically correct. All French pendulum clocks cases are built in brass. This alloy is much easier to work, being less porous than true bronze. Very detailed sculptures can be obtained, as can be seen in the enlarged picture. Bronze was used only on statues and other items exposed to the weather, not on clocks.
